User rates

Default hourly rates for users streamline time-based charge entry, eliminating the need to repeatedly set the same rate or remember the hourly rates of other users. Additionally, with the help of contracts, you won’t need to recall special hourly rate terms defined and agreed upon with specific customers.

Once the user’s hourly rates are set, their rate will automatically be applied when logging time-based charges. The total charge is calculated by multiplying the user’s rate by the value entered in the hours to bill field.

The rate used for a charge can be modified by users with the appropriate permissions. Additionally, Contracts may have pricing rules and exceptions that override the default hourly rate of a user when associated with a charge.

Only administrators and power users with ‘Full’ billing access rights can manage users’ hourly rates. (See permissions.)
To set the default hourly rates:
  1. Click the Gear icon in the top-right corner and select User Rates from the dropdown menu.
  2. Choose one or more users from the list and click the Change Rate button to set the hourly rate for the selected users.
